Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sequoias Receives International Paper Foundation Grant

Visalia, CA, December 6th, 2022 – Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sequoias has been awarded a $3,000 grant from International Paper’s Exeter Container and the International Paper Foundation. Funds will support the Club’s Triple Play Healthy Habits program. The “body” component of Triple Play promotes becoming more physically active through a variety of games, cooperative activities, and sports that develop a young person’s ability, confidence and motivation to be physically fit. Healthy Habits is the “mind” component of the Triple Play program. The Healthy Habits curricula focuses on making choices that support a healthy eating pattern and physical wellness. This targeted program is made up of interactive practical activities that develop a young person’s ability, confidence and motivation to eat healthy for life.
The International Paper Foundation is one of the ways International Paper strives to reach is vision to be among the most successful, sustainable and responsible companies in the world. Started in 1952, the foundation annually provided millions in grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to address critical needs in the communities where its employees live and work. Funding priority is given to programs related to its signature causes: education, hunger, health & wellness, disaster relief and initiatives that improve that planet. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sequoias is focused on helping all young people, especially those who need us most, become responsible, caring and productive members of society. Boys & Girls Clubs were established in Tulare County in the 1990’s when Exeter and Visalia community leaders responded to the need for a positive place for local youth to spend free time after school. Today, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sequoias provides services at 15 Clubs throughout Tulare County.
